UI / UX / app

We were approached to develop an app that would translate the experience of a Yoga class directed by world renown instructors throughout locations around the world.

Perfect Yoga

One of the highlights stressed by our client was to make the user experience so seamless and effortless in navigation that anyone would be able pick up and play. They had a strong emphasis on wanting people to begin at an early age. The theory was that if students can begin early in life, they will easier achieve the skills to spread the teachings of Uma Nanda Saraswati, teach the process that would thereby lend to healthier future generations.

Seamless UI

The first step was to make sure that we created an interface that was both elegant in structure and visually appealing and familiar to a wide target market. After creating an assortment of wire frame options, we were able to settle on one that delivered all of the features needed for three thorough classes with varying levels of experience, from beginner to advanced. Additionally, it was vital to ensure that each and every relevant option could be accessed not only from the main menu, but from the alternating screens during gameplay as well.

Target Testing

Our next step in the process involved target testing HCI. We used mockups of screens to determine their effectiveness with both children and adults. The screens were developed with counterparts that differed in iconography, typography, color, screen placement of elements such as buttons and menus, and touch screen conditions.

The results revealed a definitive grouping of elements. The final design analysis yielded the most successful at random individual task completion rates at 93% for children ages 4 - 10 and 97% for adults ages 18 - 55.

Using this data, we were able to come up with a design and architecture that appealed to users within a wide age disparity.
